Preparing for Sunday 5/14

Hey Shoreliners!

I trust your week is going well - have you gotten a chance to get into chapter two of Esther?  Pastor Pilgrim will be continuing our study, and chapter two is where Esther first appears on the scene. As my father in-law says, “the plot thickens!” I’m excited to worship with you all this Sunday, check out the songs we’ll be singing!

1. Mediator

This week we’ll start right off with our theme song for this study. I hope you were able to connect with the melody & lyrics last Sunday - this is such a joyful, scriptural song and it’s a great way to get our minds focused on Christ to start the service!

2. Indescribable

I believe it’s important to sings songs that highlight who God is and praise Him for His many attributes. This song does that well by praising God the Creator. The creation around us reveals His majesty - from the finite to infinite. Out of all of His creation, He treasures and loves us the most. He sees the depths of our hearts, and He STILL loves us - how amazing and incomparable is that?

3. I Stand Amazed (How Marvelous)

At Shoreline we want to worship our God for the cross, and we want to not forget the classic hymns that have stood the test of time. This hymn accomplishes both and drives us again to amazement for His great love for us. “He bore the burden to Calvary and suffered and died alone. How marvelous, how wonderful and my song shall ever be! How marvelous, how wonderful is my Savior’s love for me!”

4. The Stand

As we move into a time of response after the teaching, this song encourages us to live a life of surrender - “what can I say, what can I do? But offer this heart O God, completely to you.” We stand and lift our hands in awe of what Christ has done - let it not be just vain words as we sing this Sunday. Come with an open heart, ready to be molded by our Savior.

5. Your Name

We’ll close our service as we often do, with a song of praise that will hopefully stay with us during the week, give us comfort and motivate us to live for Christ. His name is a strong and mighty tower, in Him we find shelter, and we know that nothing else has the power to save! Lord, give us strength as we follow You.
