Preparing for Sunday 5/21

Hey Shoreliners!

I hope you had a great Mother’s day on Sunday. I thought the stage looked great with all the flower arrangements, we are thankful for all our Moms at Shoreline! Pastor Pilgrim’s message fit well with the holiday as we looked at Esther, who was not perfect and yet God used her in a huge way. May we be ready for Him to use us as well! This Sunday we’ll finish up chapter two and get in to chapter three, here are the songs we’ll be singing to Jesus this week. Check ‘em out!

1. Happy Day

This is such a great song to start the service with. Jesus is alive! We can live a joyous life because we know our Savior conquered death and hell. Shout it out!

2.  Everlasting God

This song is taken from Isaiah 40:28-31. We can draw strength from knowing that our God is everlasting, He is the creator of the ends of the earth, He does not grow faint or weary. As we walk with Him, through every situation in our lives, we can have confidence in the fact that He is in control and will be with us!

3.  It Is Well With My Soul

Everlasting God flows naturally into this classic, beloved hymn. Because our God is everlasting, because we can draw strength from who He is, we can say “it is well with my soul” in any situation! Praise the Lord oh my soul!

4. Be Thou My Vision

At Shoreline, we believe that having a time to reflect on the sermon and respond to what we’ve heard is important. Be Thou My Vision is the traditional Irish hymn that encourages us to not trust in riches or mans empty praise, but to focus on Christ who is our true inheritance. We’ll be singing a version of this hymn that has an added bridge, make sure to listen to it by clicking on the link below.

5. Mediator

We’ll close our service on a high note, returning to our theme song for the book of Esther. You’ve heard it twice now, so I encourage you to sing it out and rejoice in Christ who is our perfect Mediator!
