Preparing for Sunday 7/9/17

Hey Shoreliners!

It’s so great to be back! We had a great time up north speaking at churches and updating supporters about our ministry with Global Serve, but I missed everything that was going on while we were gone! A big thanks to James for leading faithfully every week! This Sunday we’re blessed to have Pastor Eric Souza from Jacksonville back with us while Pastor Pilgrim fills in at Calvary Sarasota. Come with open hearts to hear from God’s word, and come ready to sing! Check out the following songs in preparation for Sunday:

1. Because of Your Love

This is a great song written by one of my favorite worship leaders - Paul Baloche. It’s a great way to start the service as we focus our thoughts on our God and what He has done for us. “As we come into your presence, we remember every blessing that You’ve poured out so freely from above!”

2.  10,000 Reasons

Based on Psalm 103, this song worships our God for His holiness, his kindness, and His love for us. It also encourages us to worship our Savior in spite of our past failings, and to trust Him for the future - knowing that He is in control and will be faithful to His word.

3.  My Jesus, I love Thee

At Shoreline, we love new songs and we cherish the older ones. This hymn was written by William Ralph Featherston, when he was a teenager! It has beautiful lyrics taken directly from the truth’s of scripture and speaks of how Christ loved us even when we were still sinners and “purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.” The last verse looks forward to when we will be with Christ and “sing with the glittering crown on my brow, if ever I loved Thee, my Jesus ’tis now!”

4. Cannons

What a better way to reflect on the sermon, then by singing “You are holy, great and mighty, the moon and the stars declare who You are. I’m so unworthy, but still You love me, forever my heart will sing of how great You are.” May God’s word and the lyrics of these songs go with you throughout the week!

5. Amazing Grace (My chains are gone)

We’ll finish our time together by singing this familiar song and praising our God for delivering us from the chains of sin! How amazing is His grace!
