Malachi has been a sobering study hasn’t it? Israel has given us an example NOT to follow in many areas - from giving, to divorce, and bad leadership. However, this Sunday is Palm Sunday - and we’ll be ending the book on a slightly more positive note as we look at the prophecy of John the Baptist coming to prepare the way for Jesus, the Messiah! We’ll also spend Sunday preparing our hearts for Resurrection Sunday - Hosanna in the highest!
Check out what we’ll be singing:
Hosanna (Praise is Rising) - Paul Baloche
To remember Palm Sunday, we’ll open with this song about the work of salvation that Jesus initiated when He rode into Jerusalem on that donkey so many years ago. The Jews shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” Today, we echo what the Jews shouted, only from the other side of the grave. He is the God who saves us, worthy of all our praises!
10,000 Reasons - Matt Redman
We’ll bless the Lord together by singing this paraphrase of Psalm 103. It encourages us to trust and worship our Lord through every season of life
All Creatures of our God and King - Traditional (arr. by Sovereign Grace Music)
This is one the oldest hymns we still sing, written in about 1225. It exalts our Triune God, focusing on the work of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Sovereign Grace has written two new verses, focusing on the work of Christ and His powerful return. Lift up your voice and sing!
Your Name - Paul Baloche
We’ll end our singing by praising the Name above all names, Jesus. He is our firm foundation, our strong and mighty tower, our shelter. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved!
The Lion and the Lamb - Leeland (arr. by Big Daddy Weave)
We started our service by singing about Jesus’ first advent and His work of salvation. We’ll close it by singing about His second coming, when he returns in power! Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that He is Lord. He will permanently break every chain and set every captive free. Satan’s temporary power over this earth will end, and we be will ushered into the age to come, when we will forever be with Him! Amen!
